Connick and Associates ensures local governments’ waste collection and disposal needs are met by liaising with River Birch and the local municipalities it represents. On the Federal level, promoting and monitoring legislation impacting the waste industry is critical to the success of the client.
Environmental Services
St. Charles Parish—Low Mississippi River levels often trigger a “saltwater wedge” where dense saltwater creeps up the riverbed from the Gulf, threatening St. Charles Parish’s municipal drinking water. The team was instrumental in getting a $55M Capital Outlay allocation to replace the Parish’s water treatment plant positioning it to provide safe drinking water to its citizens.
Water Treatment Plant
President Mitch Orgeron made the Butch Pumping Station a priority in his Capital Outlay request. Connick and Associates obtained $27M in Capital Outlay monies for this and other Lafourche Parish projects.
Pumping Station
Following damage to other fire stations by Hurricane Ida in 2020, Station 10 became a crucial location for housing both fire personnel and apparatus for the department. Of the $28M the team was able to obtain in Capital Outlay funding, the parish designated $10M for Stations 10 rehabilitation.
New Fire Station
Call Centers act as the primary, 24 / 7 point of contact for emergencies (crimes, fires, medical crises). Plaquemines Parish is utilizing a portion of the $54M Connick and Associates obtained in Capital Outlay funding to modernize its 911 Call Center.
911 Center
Disaster Recovery Assistance is critical to the Parishes of South Louisiana. Connick and Associates fosters and maintains the relationships between DRC (Disaster Recovery Cleanup) and local governments to help insure continued recovery sustainability.
Disaster Recovery Cleanup
Connick and Associates’ efforts enabled the Kenner Police Department to purchase much needed tactical gear— armored vests, helmets and specialized equipment— increasing public safety and enhancing officer survival in high-risk situations.
