YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What is the biggest difference between lobbying in Washington and lobbying on the state level?
Federal and state legislatures operate under different rules, timelines and political dynamics. Our vast experience allows us to tailor our advocacy strategies to each arena, ensuring our clients’ interests are advanced effectively in both.
How do you build relationships with lawmakers in both arenas?
We prioritize trust, transparency and consistent communication. We are pro-active. We continue to build long-term, professional relationships at the state and federal levels.
Do the issues you work on at the state level differ from those in D.C.?
State legislatures often focus on more region-specific priorities. We provide our clients with a coordinated strategy that integrates local concerns with broader federal initiatives.
How do you make sure your client’s interests are heard in both places?
Our approach includes messaging, policy goals and outreach efforts, ensuring our clients’ positions are communicated clearly and persuasively to policymakers at every level.
What ethical or legal guidelines do you have to follow as a lobbyist?
We are committed to transparency, compliance, and ethical advocacy on behalf of our clients. We are registered with the Louisiana Board of Ethics , file monthly reports and adhere to gift restrictions. Rules include mandatory disclosure of clients and compensation, keeping records and following ethical guidelines. Federally, we register and follow the rules established by Congress regarding lobbying. Ethics courses are completed annually.
